The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is reportedly set to make significant strides in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in Tamil Nadu.
Despite initial projections suggesting limited success for BJP in the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK)-ruled state, the latest TimesNow-Matrize survey paints a more optimistic picture for the saffron party’s prospects.
According to the survey, the BJP is poised to secure a vote share of 20.4 per cent.
Notably, a substantial 58 per cent of respondents believe that Annamalai’s Padayatra will have a positive impact.
The survey notes that while 44 per cent of survey participants expressed dissatisfaction with Chief Minister M K Stalin’s governance, the positive sentiment surrounding Annamalai’s yatra indicates a potential shift in public perception.
Meanwhile, AIADMK is being pushed to third place as it secures 16.3 per cent votes, followed by others (3.6 per cent votes).
Earlier speculations over BJP's vote share include Prashant Kishor's remarks about BJP going into double digits in Tamil Nadu — anything between 7 per cent and 15 per cent.
Also, survey by Times Now-ETG from December 2023 predicted a vote share of 14 per cent.
Another survey by ChanakyaaTV, had predicted a vote share of 22 per cent for a BJP-led alliance, if one is formed.
