The Border Security Force (BSF) apprehended 15 Pakistani fishermen and seized an engine-fitted country boat near the Indo-Pak border in Gujarat’s Kutch district, the force announced on Sunday (24 August), reported Hindustan Times.
Acting on specific information, BSF personnel launched a search operation on Saturday (23 August) in the general area of the border outpost at Kori Creek in Kutch.
During the operation, the troops conducted an extensive search and found an unidentified boat.
"An extensive search was carried out in the adjoining bets and during the search, 15 Pakistani fishermen were apprehended along with one engine-fitted country boat," the BSF said in a release.
The fishermen, all Pakistani nationals from Sujawal district in Sindh province, were caught near the border outpost of the BSF’s 68th battalion.
The boat carried nearly 60 kilograms of fish, nine fishing nets, diesel, ice, food items, and wooden sticks.
The force also seized a mobile phone and Rs 200 in Pakistani currency from the fishermen.
