Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to distribute over 71,000 appointment letters to newly appointed recruits on Monday (23 December) under the Rozgar Mela initiative.
The event will be conducted via video conferencing at around 10.30 am on Monday, and the Prime Minister will also deliver an address to the gathering on the occasion.
Rozgar Mela is a step towards fulfilment of the commitment of the Prime Minister to accord highest priority to employment generation, the PMO said in a release, adding that it will provide meaningful opportunities to the youth for their participation in nation building and self empowerment.
The Rozgar Mela will take place across 45 locations nationwide.
The recruitment drive spans various Ministries and Departments under the Central Government.
The selected recruits, hailing from different parts of the country, will join departments such as the Ministry of Home Affairs, Department of Posts, Department of Higher Education, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Department of Financial Services, among others.
Earlier on 29 October, PM Modi had distributed more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly appointed youth in government departments and organisations via videoconferencing.
Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister highlighted that offering permanent Government jobs to lakhs of youths has been a legacy which is continuously going on.
He added that lakhs of youths were handed appointment letters even in the states being governed by BJP and NDA allies.
