Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has urged US electric vehicle giant Tesla to establish a manufacturing facility in the state, assuring complete government support for the venture, the Hindustan Times reported.

A delegation from Tesla India Motors and Energy Private Ltd, the company’s Indian arm, met Saini to invite him to the inauguration of its upcoming Experience Centre in Gurugram.

The team was led by Isabel Fan, Tesla’s Director for Southeast Asia.

Haryana is one of India’s leading automobile hubs, home to major players like Maruti Suzuki and numerous component manufacturers.

The state offers the infrastructure and ecosystem required for global auto leaders such as Tesla to invest and expand.

Tesla, led by CEO Elon Musk, has been steadily expanding its presence in India.

After opening Experience Centres in Mumbai and Delhi earlier this year, the company is now setting up one in Gurugram.

The new facility spans about 51,000 sq ft at Orchid Business Park on Sohna Road, leased for nine years at a starting monthly rent of Rs 40.17 lakh.

The initiative underscores Tesla’s growing interest in India’s electric vehicle sector, aligning with the country’s push for clean mobility and domestic EV manufacturing.

Tesla’s presence in India is currently focused on establishing a strong retail and service network as a precursor to local manufacturing.

The company operates through its subsidiary Tesla India Motors and Energy Pvt Ltd, which was incorporated in Bengaluru in 2021.

Tesla began expanding its footprint with Experience Centres in Mumbai, Delhi, and now in Gurugram.
