Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Jammu and Kashmir has been the worst victim of parivarvad (dynastic politics) targeting Mehbooba Mufti's PDP and Farooq Abdullah's NC without naming them.

"Today, Jammu-Kashmir is breathing freely due to the removal of Article 370. Congress and its allies misled the people of Jammu-Kashmir and the country on the issue of Article 370 for decades," Modi said.

"Was 370 benefitting Jammu-Kashmir or some political families were taking advantage of it?", Modi questioned and said that the people now know they were misled.

This the the PM's first visit to Srinagar since the abrogation of Article 370. He highlighted that now everyone here has equal rights and opportunities and many communities got voting rights after 70 years.

"Valmiki community is now getting Scheduled Caste (SC) benefits. Vidhan Sabha has reserved seats for SCs. Pattari tribes, Pahadi groups, Gadda Brahmin and Koli communities have been included into SC list," Modi said.

Highlighting that Other Backward Classes (OBC) now have a reservation in local body elections, he said that dynastic parties kept people devoid of their rights.

He highlighted how Jammu-Kashmir Bank was struggling due to mismanagement and was on the verge of collapse. However, the bank today registered a profit of Rs 1,700 crore, Modi said.
