The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has announced the completion of track laying at Modipuram, the final station on the 82-kilometer Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor.

This milestone signifies a significant advancement toward the corridor's full operational status, expected by mid-2025.

In a statement, NCRTC said that civil and finishing work is going on at a rapid pace on the Meerut section of Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor.

"Track laying work has recently been completed at Modipuram, the last Namo Bharat station (towards Meerut) of this corridor," NCRTC said.

Modipuram station, strategically situated along National Highway-58, is designed to accommodate both Namo Bharat and Meerut Metro services.

The station features three platforms: two dedicated to the semi-high-speed Namo Bharat trains and one for the Meerut Metro.

Spanning 215 meters in length and 34 meters in width, the station includes eight staircases, eight escalators, and six lifts to ensure efficient passenger movement.

A foot overbridge is also under construction to connect both sides of the highway, enhancing accessibility for commuters.

Currently, Namo Bharat trains operate along a 55-kilometer stretch from New Ashok Nagar in Delhi to Meerut South, serving 11 stations.

The corridor's extension to Modipuram will complete the envisioned 82-kilometer route, significantly reducing travel time between Delhi and Meerut to under an hour.

NCRTC had earlier announced that the section between New Ashok Nagar and Sarai Kale Khan on the corridor has now been successfully electrified and trial runs have begun on the corridor.
