The Delhi Police Special Cell busted an ISIS-inspired terror module today (24 October), arresting two operatives who were allegedly planning an IED blast in the national capital.
The suspects, both named as Adnan, reportedly underwent training for fidayeen suicide attacks and were in advanced stages of executing their plot in crowded areas of the city.
The arrests were made during coordinated operations in Delhi's Sadiq Nagar and subsequently in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
One operative is Delhi-based while the other hails from Bhopal.
Intelligence agencies seized a cache of arms and ammunition from their custody, along with incriminating materials including a video showing their pledge of allegiance to ISIS.
The suspects had reportedly conducted surveillance on densely populated locations, including a major shopping mall in south Delhi and a public park.
Police recovered electronic components and a wristwatch believed to be part of an IED assembly, alongside ISIS propaganda materials and a flag.
Among the seized material was a video pledge of allegiance to ISIS.
