The Election Commission of India (ECI) on Wednesday (20 March) issued the notification for the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
The polling for the first phase of the parliamentary elections will be held on 19 April.
In the notification, the EC said that 28 March will be the last date for filing nominations for Bihar, and 27 March for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep and Puducherry.
The last date for scrutiny of nominations for Bihar will be 30 March while for other states/UTs, it will be on 28 March.
According to the EC, 2 April will be the last date for withdrawal of candidatures for Bihar and 30 March for Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Rajasthan, Sikkim, Tamil Nadu, Tripura, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, West Bengal, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Jammu and Kashmir, Lakshadweep and Puducherry.
The Lok Sabha elections are set to be held in seven phases.
As many as 102 parliamentary seats in 21 States and UTs are set to go for the polls in the first phase of the Lok Sabha elections.
