The first list of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comprising 195 Lok Sabha candidates features four Bhojpuri stars. While Pawan Singh will be making his electoral debut, three others are already BJP MPs.
While Manoj Tiwari has been representing North East Delhi since 2014 and has got a ticket for the third consecutive time from here, the other two Bhojpuri stars will be seeking their second term.
Ravi Kishan won Yogi Adityanath's Gorakhpur in the 2019 elections and got a ticket again from here. Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirahua' too contested the 2019 elections from Azamgarh, but lost to Akhilesh Yadav.
However, after Samajwadi Party (SP) national president Akhilesh Yadav left this seat to join the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, Nirahua won the Azamgarh by-polls held in 2022 and got a ticket again from here.
Pawan Singh got the BJP ticket from West Bengal's Asansol. This seat was won by Babul Supriyo on the BJP ticket in 2014 and 2019 and by Shatrughan Singh in the 2022 by-polls on the Trinamool Congress (TMC) ticket.
Sinha is expected to be Pawan Singh's rival. Singh's first reaction on getting a ticket is going viral, where he expressed happiness while watching a Press Conference in the gym.
