Hero MotoCorp, the world's leading two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced its entry into the European market with a range of electric scooters.

As reported by The Economic Times, the company plans to introduce the VIDA V1 electric scooter range in Spain, France, and the UK by mid-2024.

Pawan Munjal, Executive Chairman of Hero MotoCorp, expressed confidence that the company would establish itself as a trusted brand in the European market, just as it has in other parts of the world.

He emphasised the company's commitment to a cleaner and more equitable planet through its products and services.

The initial focus will be on introducing the electric scooter VIDA V1, with plans to expand the product range to include high-capacity premium internal combustion engine (ICE) motorcycles and scooters.

The VIDA V1 will be the first product to enter the European markets, starting with Spain and France, while operations in the United Kingdom will commence later in 2024.

In addition to electric scooters, Hero MotoCorp unveiled two new ICE scooters, the Xoom 125R and the Xoom 160, which will be introduced in multiple geographies.

The company also revealed the VIDA V1 Pro for the European and UK markets.

Hero MotoCorp, which entered the electric segment with the VIDA brand in October 2022, manufactures its electric scooters in Andhra Pradesh.

At a motor show, the company also showcased a portfolio of high-capacity premium motorcycles, including the Concept 2.5R XTunt, and introduced two EV concepts, the Lynx and Acro, which focus on urban mobility and were developed at the company's European R&D hub near Munich.
