The Republic Day 2024 parade began after President Droupadi Murmu and French President Emanuel Macron arrived at Kartavya Path.
PM Modi greeted President Murmu and Macron on their arrival on Kartavya Path.
After President Murmu unfurled the national flag, a 21-gun salute was performed along with the singing of the national anthem.
Based on the twin themes of 'Viksit Bharat' and 'Bharat - Loktantra Ki Matruka', this year's parade is witnessing the participation of 13,000 special guests.
For the first time, the parade was heralded by over 100 women artists playing Indian musical instruments like the shankh (conch), naadswaram, and nagada.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
