Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted on Saturday (1 March) that his “vocal for local” initiative is delivering results as Indian products are now reaching global markets and making a strong impact worldwide.

Addressing the NXT conclave where the ‘NewsX World’ channel was launched, PM Modi said India was long perceived as the world’s back office.

Now, he stated, the country is emerging as the factory of the world.

"Few years ago, I had presented the vision of 'Vocal for Local' and 'Local for Global' to the nation and today, we are seeing this vision turn into reality”, the Prime Minister said.

He pointed out that India is manufacturing everything from semiconductors to aircraft carriers and that the world wants to learn about India's success in detail and expressed that this is a significant opportunity for NewsX World.

PM Modi emphasised that India's AYUSH products and yoga have gone from local to global and noted that India's superfood, makhana, is also gaining global recognition, along with millets, referred to as "Shri Anna".

Saying that for decades, the world referred to India as its back office, the Prime Minister added, “Today, India is becoming the new factory of the world”.

He emphasised that India is not just a workforce but a world-force and highlighted that the country, which once imported many products, is now emerging as an export hub.

India has also become a major automobile producer and its defence export is rising, he said.

Modi said the BJP-led NDA government securing a third consecutive term reflected the trust of the people.

He expressed hope that the newly launched international news channel would play a role in showcasing India's achievements on the global stage.
