The Indian Armed Forces have begun large-scale mobilisation for the Tri-Service Exercise 2025, code-named “Trishul”, led by the Indian Navy and involving the Army and Air Force, The New Indian Express reported.

The exercise, commencing in early November and continuing until November 13, aims to strengthen joint operational readiness and validate integrated multi-domain operations across India’s western front.

According to the Navy, Trishul will cover vast operational zones along the Gujarat coast and the northern Arabian Sea, featuring large-scale drills in the creek and desert sectors of Rajasthan and Gujarat, as well as extensive maritime and amphibious operations.

The Army’s Southern Command, Navy’s Western Naval Command, and Air Force’s South Western Command are leading the efforts, with participation from the Indian Coast Guard, Border Security Force, and other central agencies to enhance inter-agency coordination.

Vice Admiral AN Pramod, Director General Naval Operations, said that “20–25 ships of the Navy, more than 40 fighters and support aircraft along with amphibious assets are involved in the exercise which is to continue till 13 November.”

The Navy stated that the exercise is designed to validate operational procedures across the three services, improve interoperability, and advance joint intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), electronic warfare, and cyber capabilities.

It will also include carrier operations and amphibious landings using INS Jalashwa and Landing Craft Utility vessels to simulate troop mobilisation for shore operations.

A major focus of Trishul is the integration of indigenous defence systems in line with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiative, while testing combat readiness in a complex and evolving threat environment.

The exercise comes amid heightened vigilance along the western frontier following Pakistan’s infrastructure expansion near the Sir Creek area, where Defence Minister Rajnath Singh recently warned that any provocation would invite a “decisive response.”

India will also hold a major tri-service military exercise named ‘Poorvi Prachand Prahar’ in the high-altitude terrain of Mechuka, Arunachal Pradesh, aimed at boosting operational coordination, technological integration, and combat preparedness among the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
