Three terrorists were killed on Sunday (14 July) as security forces thwarted an infiltration attempt near the Line of Control (LoC) in north Kashmir's Kupwara district according to a report from Hindustan Times.

“Three terrorists have been eliminated in the ongoing anti-infiltration operation on the LoC in Keran sector, along with the recovery of weapons and other war-like stores,” the strategic Chinar Corps announced in a post on X.

The operation is still in progress, and the identities of the slain terrorists have not yet been disclosed.

This operation follows a week after security forces killed six terrorists in two separate gunfights in south Kashmir's Kulgam district on 6 and 7 July. In these encounters, the Army lost two of its soldiers.

On 6 July, four terrorists and one soldier were killed in Chinigam, while another soldier died in Modergam. The remaining two terrorists were killed on 7 July as the Modergam operation concluded.

Earlier, on 23 June, a terrorist was killed in an anti-infiltration operation by security forces near the LoC in the Uri sector of north Kashmir's Baramulla district.
