IRCON Bags Rs 1,869 Crore Worth Of Rail And Metro Contracts— All About It

IRCON International Ltd, a public sector engineering giant, has secured a string of significant contracts collectively worth over Rs 1,869 crore, covering metro and railway projects across Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Karnataka.

The company confirmed it had received a Letter of Acceptance from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for civil and electrical works related to a new broad-gauge line between Pipaliya Nankar and Budni in Madhya Pradesh.

Valued at Rs 755.78 crore (inclusive of GST), the project will be executed by an IRCON–JPWIPL joint venture, with IRCON holding a 70 per cent share,

The 36 month contract also includes a six-month defect liability period.

On the urban transport front, IRCON has clinched two high-value orders from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).

The first, Contract CA-239 for Metro Line-5 (Package-2), is pegged at Rs 471.29 crore and €2.84 million.

It entails setting up a 220 kV receiving substation, high- and medium-voltage cabling, a 25 kV overhead catenary system, SCADA, and full E&M works, including lifts and escalators.

The project will be completed over 108 weeks, with a two-year defect liability clause followed by five years of maintenance.

The second, CA-233 for Metro Line-6 (Package-2), carries a value of Rs 642.44 crore and €2.79 million. It covers similar works related to power supply, traction, and station equipment, with an execution window of 104 weeks and extended service support.

Separately, IRCON announced a Rs 253.6 crore order from South Western Railway to deploy the indigenous KAVACH train collision avoidance system over 778 route km in Bengaluru and Mysuru divisions. This project is set to be completed within 18 months.
