The Israeli military on Sunday (15 June) urged citizens of Iran residing near Iranian military and other facilities to immediately evacuate, signalling possible new strikes.

In a message titled 'Urgent Warning to the Citizens of Iran', the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) said, "An immediate warning to all individuals currently or soon to be near or around facilities manufacturing military equipment or institutions supporting them in Iran. We respectfully ask residents: for your own safety, evacuate these areas immediately and do not return until further notice".

"Your presence near these underground facilities puts your lives in danger," the message, originally written in Persian, said.

An Israeli military spokesperson said the warning included all weapons factories and supporting facilities, Reuters reported.

In a separate post on X, the IDF said, "While Iran chooses to strike without warning, we choose to warn a innocent people even if it means giving up the element of surprise. We warn them, in Persian, across many channels. Because human life comes first to us. That’s the difference between us and our enemy".

Israel and Iran continue to exchange missile strikes on Sunday as the tensions between the two West Asian nations continue to rise following IDF's airstrikes on military and nuclear targets in Iran on early Friday.

At least 10 people, including children, have been killed in Iranian strikes on Israeli cities while at least 78 people have lost their lives in IDF airstrikes on Tehran.
