Japanese automotive major Denso Corporation has announced an investment of Rs 250 crore to establish a motor generator manufacturing plant in Gautam Budh Nagar, Uttar Pradesh, reported The Times Of India.

These generators play a key role in hybrid and electric vehicles (EVs).

The decision came after a strategic meeting in Kariya, Aichi, Japan, between Denso’s leadership and a Uttar Pradesh government delegation led by Alok Kumar, principal secretary (infrastructure and industrial development), and senior Invest UP officials.

The UP delegation, attending the World Expo 2025 in Osaka, also included Finance Minister Suresh Khanna.

They held several discussions with Japanese companies and leaders such as Osaka Prefectural Assembly chairperson Kinjo Katsunori and vice-chairperson Kida Kaoru.

During the meetings, both sides explored collaboration in industrial growth, technology transfer, and youth upskilling.

Officials from Invest UP and the Indian consulate, including Chandru Apar, emphasised Uttar Pradesh’s skilled workforce, favourable demographics, and strong infrastructure.

Meanwhile, Invest UP’s pavilion at the Osaka Expo has been attracting international attention, showcasing the state’s pro-business climate and fast-growing EV ecosystem.

The investment is expected to boost India’s clean mobility ambitions while reinforcing Uttar Pradesh’s position as a preferred destination for global investors.
