NCP released its first list of 38 candidates for the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly election, on Wednesday (23 October 2024).

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar will contest from the Baramati Assembly constituency, while MLA Chhagan Bhujbal will fight from the Yevala Assembly.

Additionally, the NCP has nominated Maharashtra Co-operation Minister Dilip Walse Patil to contest from the Ambegaon Assembly seat.

A second list is expected to be released soon as seat-sharing talks are still going on between BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP.

The NCP, led by Ajit Pawar, is expected to contest over 50 seats as part of the alliance.

Other major parties of the Mahayuti alliance, BJP, and Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena have already released a list of 99 and 45 candidates, respectively.

Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Wednesday (23 October 2024) said 99 per cent of the work on the Maha Vikas Aghadi's (MVA) seat-sharing arrangement has been completed.

The Maharashtra Constituency Assembly consists of 288 members.
