Kerala's MBA student Abin Shibi was arrested on Monday (4 March) for an acid attack on three female students of Mangaluru's Pre-University (PU) College, OnManorama reported.
According to Abin, his intention was to throw acid only on one girl, who refused his advances for an affair. He told police that he wanted to "show disappointment in love."
The girl that Abin targeted suffered third-degree facial burn injuries while the other two girls, who were apparently sitting close to her, sustained minor burn injuries.
Abin came inside the college as a student wearing the uniform. He threw acid when the girls were sitting in corridors. He was caught by the locals and handed over to the police.
The attacker hails from Malappuram's Nilambur and is 23 years old. The three injured girls are Aleena, Amrita and Archana, who studied in Kadaba Government College.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
