Mumbai Police's Crime Branch has begun the extradition process to bring back Anmol Bishnoi, the younger brother of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi, from the United States.

Anmol is wanted in connection with a firing case near actor Salman Khan’s residence, and he is reportedly located in the United States.

A special court for Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) cases has issued a non-bailable warrant for Anmol Bishnoi's arrest, NDTV reported citing police sources.

They said they are waiting for certain court documents to complete the formalities, after which a formal proposal will be sent to the central government for further action.

Further, a red corner notice has also been issued for his search abroad.

The crime branch started the extradition process reportedly after the US alerted his presence there. Earlier, he was believed to be in Canada.

Last month, the National Investigation Agency (NIA), India’s anti-terror probe agency, added Anmol Bishnoi in its list of most-wanted individuals, declaring a reward of Rs 10 lakh for any information leading to his arrest.

Additionally, the Bishnoi gang is under investigation in connection with the murder of Maharashtra politician Baba Siddique last, who was known to share close ties with Salman Khan.
