NDA Pledges One Crore Government Jobs, Major Development Push In Bihar Poll Manifesto

The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) on Friday (31 October) unveiled its manifesto, Sankalp Patra, for the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, promising one crore government jobs, major infrastructure upgrades, and large-scale welfare initiatives across sectors, The Times of India reported.

Chief Minister Nitish Kumar released the document in Patna alongside BJP’s JP Nadda, Union ministers Jitan Ram Manjhi and Chirag Paswan, and RLM chief Upendra Kushwaha.

BJP’s Bihar chief Dilip Jaiswal described the manifesto as “the guarantee of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the trust of Bihar CM Nitish Kumar.”

The NDA’s Sankalp Patra places employment generation and women’s empowerment at its core.

Key promises include one crore jobs, Mega Skill Centres in every district, 10 new industrial parks, 100 MSME parks, and 50,000 cottage industries.

The alliance also announced plans for Semiconductor and Manufacturing Parks, a Women Employment Scheme benefiting 22 lakh women, and a Mission Crorepati for women entrepreneurs.

Agricultural reforms feature prominently, with a proposed hike in the Kisan Samman Nidhi from Rs 6,000 to Rs 9,000, MSP guarantees for all crops, and doubled aid for fish farmers.

The manifesto also promises Rs 9 lakh crore for pre-infrastructure development, seven expressways, 3,600 km of new rail lines, and metro projects in four cities.

Additional commitments include 50 lakh new homes, 125 units of free electricity, and new medical colleges in every district.

The Mahagathbandhan, led by Tejashwi Yadav, promises a law ensuring one government job per family and the restoration of the Old Pension Scheme.

Bihar will vote in two phases on 6 and 11 November, with results to be declared on 14 November. The NDA is banking on its mix of employment guarantees and development promises to secure another term in power.
