The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (Yeida) has approved a Rs 1,700 crore project to build a 25-km road linking Greater Noida West’s “130-metre-wide road” with Noida International Airport, enhancing connectivity from Ghaziabad and Greater Noida West, the Hindustan Times reported.

The road will pass through several newly developed areas in Yeida (Yamuna City) before reaching the aviation hub, officials said.

Yeida has decided to engage the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) for construction.

The alignment of the road is nearly final, and work on land acquisition is set to begin.

“The authority will spend Rs 1,700 crore on this new road project that will boost connectivity from Ghaziabad and Greater Noida West to Noida International Airport. The authority will spend Rs 1,400 crore in buying the land required for the road project that will pass through many villages starting from Sirsa, Aleda, and Thora among others before touching the airport,” said Yeida CEO RK Singh.

The new road will provide the airport’s first connectivity from the east side, complementing existing western approaches via the Yamuna Expressway.

The airport’s aviation and cargo hub will be accessible via this stretch from Char Murti in Greater Noida West to the proposed Palwal-Khurja Expressway.

The land acquisition plan covers 812 acres, with construction costs estimated at over Rs 300 crore.

Additionally, Yeida and the Greater Noida Authority are planning a 3-km link road between their corridors to ensure direct access to the airport.

This link, starting near Sirsa village and extending toward Alauda village, will pass along several Yeida sectors, skirt the airport’s cargo and aviation hub, and meet the proposed Palwal–Khurja Expressway.

Officials said the route will run parallel to the Yamuna Expressway on the opposite side of the airport terminal, easing traffic and improving commuting for residents of Greater Noida, Greater Noida West, and Ghaziabad.
