National Security Adviser (NSA) Ajit Doval actively engaged top security and diplomatic officials from Russia and China during the 20th Meeting of the SCO Security Council Secretaries in Beijing this week, reported The New Indian Express.
On Tuesday (24 June), NSA Doval met with Russia's Security Council Deputy Secretary Aleksandr Venediktov. "H E Aleksandr Venediktov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, called on NSA Shri Ajit Doval today on the sidelines of the 20th Meeting of the SCO Security Council Secretaries in Beijing," the Indian embassy in Beijing stated on X.
The two leaders discussed bilateral, regional, and international issues. Venediktov expressed his eagerness to host Doval in Russia for the next strategic dialogue. "Both sides reiterated the importance of taking forward their bilateral cooperation based on the India-Russia Special and Privileged Strategic Partnership in line with the vision of the leaders," the post added.
On Monday, Doval also held discussions with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi. They reviewed India-China bilateral relations, emphasising the importance of advancing overall ties and fostering people-to-people exchanges.
NSA Doval stressed the urgent need for concerted efforts to combat terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. He also extended an invitation to Wang Yi to visit India for the 24th round of Special Representative Talks on boundary issues.
