Congress leader Rahul Gandhi addressed a press conference on completion of 100 days of Bharat Jodo Yatra.
During the interaction Gandhi stated that only Congress could take the BJP down and no one should underestimate the party. He was addressing the press event in Rajasthan, where the party seems to have been divided in Gehlot and Pilot camps.
However, it seems that both Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot, have put their differences aside till the high command is in the state.
Recently, the Congress experienced a humiliating defeat in Gujarat, recording its lowest ever tally in the state elections. In Himachal Pradesh, the party won but the difference was of less one per cent in vote share.
The year 2022 has been disastrous for Congress electorally. The party lost power in Punjab and failed to make an impact in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Goa and Manipur.
Apart from the losses, the Congress saw exodus of party's bigwigs. The names include Ghulam Nabi Azad, Ashwani Kumar, Kapil Sibal, Sunil Jhakar, RPN Singh, among others.
The impact of Gandhi's yatra is yet to be seen, especially on its electoral fortunes in the assembly polls next year, including in Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
