A group of 400 pilgrims from Gujarat has been walking on foot to visit Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh (UP) since 30 January. The group reached UP's Barabanki on Monday (10 March), where it was duly welcomed, Dainik Jagran reported.

The group is being led by Ghanshyam Vallabh Swami, K P Swami and Ram bhaiya. Of the 400 people, 201 are women, who can be seen walking in pink sarees.

The group will be covering a distance of 1,500 kilometre (km), traversing through states of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and UP. A distance of 100 km now remains to be covered by them from Barabanki to Ayodhya.

"Our only wish is to see Ramlalla," group leader Ram bhaiya said, adding that the group only rests for five to six hours at night and continues to walk throughout the day.
