The Indian Army carried out precision strikes targeting Pakistani posts and terrorist launch pads located across the border near Jammu.

These posts and launch pads were being used to launch tube-fired drones.

"Pakistani Posts and Terrorist Launch Pads from where Tube Launched Drones were also being launched, have been destroyed by the Indian Army positioned near Jammu," news agency ANI reported quoting defence sources.

Earlier on Friday (9 May) night, Pakistan escalated the tensions with India by launching drone attacks in multiple Indian cities.

The locations included Baramulla, Srinagar, Avantipora, Nagrota, Jammu, Ferozepur, Pathankot, Fazilka, Lalgarh Jatta, Jaisalmer, Barmer, Bhuj, Kuarbet and Lakhi Nala.

Most of the drones were neutralised by Indian air defence systems.

An armed Pakistani drone targeted a civilian area in Ferozepur, resulting in severe injuries to members of a local family.

Meanwhile, Pakistani media reported that India launched missile strikes targeting three Pakistan Air Force (PAF) bases in the early hours of the day.

According to a statement by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, the missiles were aimed at PAF Nur Khan Airbase in Rawalpindi, PAF Murid base in Chakwal, and PAF Rafiqui base in Shorkot, Jhang district.
