Persecuted Hindu Minority in Bangladesh Needs Support From India And Global Hindus: RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat

Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat on Saturday (12 October) said that Indian government and the Hindus across the world will have to support the persecuted Hindu minority in Bangladesh.

Addressing a gathering on Dussehra, which is also the foundation day of RSS, the Sangh chief said, "The recent violent coup in Bangladesh has immediate and local causes, which are just one aspect of the situation. However, it also underscores the ongoing tradition of senseless brutality against the indigenous Hindu community".

"In response to these atrocities, the Hindu community there has united and stepped outside their homes to defend themselves, resulting in some level of protection this time. However, as long as this oppressive and extremist mentality persists, the Hindu community and all minority groups in the country will continue to face the threat of danger," he added.

In this backdrop, Bhagwat noted that the issue of illegal infiltration from Bangladesh into India, along with the population imbalance it creates, has become a serious concern for the general public.

"It raises questions about communal harmony and the security of the nation," he added.

"The Hindu minority in Bangladesh will need support from all those who advocate for generosity, humanity, and goodwill, especially from the Government of India and Hindus around the world," he said.

Bhagwat said that the lesson that should be learned from Bangladesh situation by Hindus globally is that remaining disorganised and weak invites atrocities by evildoers.

He also spoke about the ongoing narrative among some sections in Bangladesh that Pakistan will help them against India.

"In Bangladesh, such discussions are going on that we have a threat from India, and hence we have to side with Pakistan since they have nuclear weapons, and we can stop India... We all know which countries are pushing such discussions and narratives; we don't need to name them. Their wish is to create such conditions in India as well. Such industries are being run to stop India. Deep state, wokeism, and cultural Marxism are a few words that are in discussion. I discussed it last year as well. A few people said that these things are not here, but they have been for long," the RSS chief said.

He said that 'Deep State', 'Wokeism', 'Cultural Marxism' are the declared enemies of all cultural traditions.

Destruction of values, traditions and whatever is considered virtuous and auspicious is a part of their modus operandi, he added.
