Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday (15 August) conveyed his greetings to the nation on the occasion of Independence Day, calling on citizens to work with greater determination towards fulfilling the dreams of India’s freedom fighters.
“Wishing everyone a very happy Independence Day. May this day inspire us to keep working even harder to realise the dreams of our freedom fighters and build a Viksit Bharat. Jai Hind!” he wrote in a post on X.
In a separate message, the Prime Minister lauded President Droupadi Murmu’s address to the nation on the eve of Independence Day.
He said the President had highlighted India’s collective progress and the opportunities that lie ahead.
He noted that she had reminded the country of the sacrifices that paved the way for freedom and urged every citizen to contribute towards nation-building.
"On the eve of our Independence Day, Rashtrapati Ji has given a thoughtful address in which she has highlighted the collective progress of our nation and the opportunities ahead. She reminded us of the sacrifices that paved the way for India's freedom and called upon every citizen to contribute towards nation-building," the Prime Minister said.
