PM Modi Launches India’s Largest Integrated Textile Park In Madhya Pradesh Under PM Mitra Scheme

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday (17 September) inaugurated the PM MITRA Park in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, which is India’s largest integrated textile park, and called it a landmark initiative for the country’s textile industry, the Prime Minister’s Office said in a statement.

He said the facility would bring together the entire value chain, from spinning and weaving to processing, designing, and exports, in one location, cutting costs and boosting competitiveness.

Highlighting Dhar’s rich tradition in Maheshwari textiles and recalling the 300th birth anniversary of Devi Ahilyabai Holkar, the Prime Minister said her legacy was now being advanced through this project.

He said that the park will provide easy access to essential weaving materials like cotton and silk, simplify quality checks, and enhance market connectivity.

Modi said the initiative aligns with the government’s “5F” vision for textiles, Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Factory, Factory to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign, ensuring a seamless journey from raw material to global markets.

About 1,300 acres have been allotted for the park, with over 80 industrial units already earmarked.

Infrastructure and factory construction will progress in parallel, he said, adding that the project is expected to generate around three lakh jobs while reducing logistics and manufacturing costs.

The Prime Minister congratulated the people of Madhya Pradesh, stressing that the park would also help farmers get better value for their produce and open new opportunities for youth.

He said similar PM MITRA parks were planned in six other states to build large-scale textile ecosystems and strengthen exports.

The PM MITRA (Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel) scheme was announced in 2021 to develop world-class industrial hubs for the textile industry.

The parks aim to attract large investments, provide plug-and-play infrastructure, and create high-value employment. The Dhar facility, spread over more than 2,150 acres, is backed by investment proposals of over Rs 23,000 crore.

The scheme will establish seven parks across states like Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh and Maharashtra.

Each park, spread over 1,000 acres, will host the entire value chain, from fibre, spinning, weaving, dyeing and printing to garment manufacturing and exports, in one location.

With world-class infrastructure, plug-and-play factories, logistics, skill training and research facilities, the project targets Rs 70,000 crore investment, creating about 20 lakh jobs and cutting production and transport costs.
