PM Modi Not To Face Kshatriya Protests During His Campaign In Gujarat, Here's Why

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not face protests from the Kshatriya community while campaigning for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Gujarat as a deference was announced earlier today (1 May).

In the press release of Gujarat Rajput Samaj Organisation’s Coordination Committee (GRSOCC), it was said, "...with the noble intention of respecting the dignity and respect of the office of prime minister, there shall be no protests..."

The focus will be now on mobilising the Kshatriyas to vote against the BJP during the 7 May polling, as per the GRSOCC member P T Jadeja, who also has been a prominent face of the recent Kshatriya protests.

"We have decided to wield the weapon of votes by mobilising Khatriyas at polling booths. To achieve this, we have decided not to spend our energies on disrupting election meetings of the BJP by waving black flags," he was quoted by IE.

GRSOCC mentioned Modi's Jamnagar rally scheduled for tomorrow. Other than this, the PM will also address public gatherings in  Surendranagar and Junagadh. Today, he went to Sabarkantha and Banaskantha in Gujarat.

The latest announcement might give a relief to the BJP, which has been struggling with disruptions by members of the Kshatriya community in its election campaigns after Rajkot candidate Parshottam Rupala's comments.

However, the Kshatriya community will continue its conventions "as part of mobilisation." After a convention in Anand today evening, next is planned at  Khijadiya Chokdi on the outskirts of Jamnagar on Friday, a day after Modi's rally.
