PM Modi To Attend Gita Press Centenary Celebrations In Gorakhpur On 7 July

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to participate in the centenary celebration of Gita Press in Gorakhpur on 7 July.
The PM will also make a stop over in Kushinagar, reports say.
In Gorakhpur, PM Narendra Modi will participate in the closing ceremony of the centenary celebration of Gita Press.
Meanwhile, in Kushinagar, preparations have commenced for the inauguration of the Agriculture University and a public rally.
On Thursday (29 June), the District Magistrate inspected Gita Press and discussed the arrangements regarding the Prime Minister's visit. They provided information about the Prime Minister's visit to the management of Gita Press and held discussions regarding the arrangements.
Lalmani Tiwari, the manager of Gita Press, revealed the Prime Minister will also unveil the picture book "Shiv Mahapuran" on this occasion.
Earlier, it was announced that the Gandhi Peace Prize for the year 2021 had been conferred on Gita Press, Gorakhpur.
However, the Gita Press has made a decision to decline the Rs 1 crore cash reward accompanying the Prize, while accepting the award itself. As per an India Today report, the publisher stated on 19 June 19 that it would only be accepting the citation and recommended that the government allocate the cash reward amount to other deserving causes.
