Prime Minister Narendra Modi will today (10 June) meet members of the all-party delegations who were sent abroad to explain Operation Sindoor.
The meeting would be held at 7 PM in his official residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg, to review the outreach and discuss future steps.
Seven delegations were sent abroad to brief global audiences, policymakers, and legislators on Pakistan’s sustained support for terrorism and India’s 'new normal' following Operation Sindoor.
According to a report by Mint, the delegations—comprising 59 lawmakers and former diplomats, visited 33 countries. MPs from various political parties were split into seven groups of eight to nine members, each led by a designated head who represented India’s position on a global platform.
Group leaders included Shashi Tharoor (Congress), Ravi Shankar Prasad and Baijayant Panda (BJP), Sanjay Jha (JD-U), Kanimozhi Karunanidhi (DMK), Supriya Sule (NCP-SP), and Shrikant Shinde (Shiv Sena).
The delegations not only outlined India’s counterterrorism stance but also spotlighted Pakistan’s role in sponsoring terror, urging its return to the Financial Action Task Force's (FATF) grey list.
Operation Sindoor was launched on 7 May in response to the 22 April terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, which killed 26 people. The Indian Armed Forces targeted terror hubs in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Through Operation Sindoor, Indian forces conducted precision strikes on 7 May, eliminating over 100 terrorists affiliated with groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba, and Hizbul Mujahideen in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied territories.
