PM Modi Writes Foreword To Giorgia Meloni’s Autobiography, Calls It “Her Mann Ki Baat”

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has penned the foreword to the Indian edition of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s autobiography “I Am Giorgia — My Roots, My Principles”, which is set to release soon.

According to The Indian Express, Modi reflected on his experiences with world leaders over the past 11 years, noting that their personal journeys often highlight “universal themes” that he also sees in Meloni’s life.

The Prime Minister described the Italian leader with warmth and respect. “Prime Minister Meloni’s life and leadership remind us of these timeless truths… It will be well received (in India) as a refreshing story of an outstanding contemporary political leader and a patriot… Her belief in defending one’s cultural heritage, while engaging with the world on equal terms, mirrors our own values,” Modi wrote.

He referred to the book as “her Mann Ki Baat,” drawing a parallel with his popular radio broadcast of the same name. Modi also expressed his “respect and admiration” for Meloni, calling her a “patriot.”

Modi highlighted the central theme of celebrating womanhood in his foreword, describing the book as a “deeply personal” autobiographical account. He praised Meloni for defending “motherhood, national identity and tradition,” and noted that India and Italy were connected by far more than just treaties and trade.

The book traces Meloni’s political journey, her values, and her perspective on leadership in contemporary times. Modi’s contribution is expected to bring additional attention to the Indian edition, especially given the growing rapport between India and Italy in recent years.

By likening her memoir to “her Mann Ki Baat,” Modi highlighted the personal and introspective nature of Meloni’s reflections, while underlining shared ideals of cultural pride and international engagement.
