Indore police nabbed three members of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang on Sunday (1 December) and placed them under a three-day police remand for further investigation.

Taresh Kumar Soni, Station House Officer (SHO) of Lasudia Police Station, detailed the operation. “Yesterday, we received information about the movement of certain individuals in a Thar vehicle. Upon searching, we recovered pistols and six magazines. Three individuals were searched, and all of them are history-sheeters. They are also wanted in Bihar. We have connected with the Bihar Police. All three accused have been taken on a three-day police remand. Further investigation is underway,” he stated.

The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, notorious for its involvement in organised crime, has been under increased scrutiny. Recent arrests in other states indicate a coordinated effort by law enforcement to dismantle the group.

Punjab Police on 27 November captured two gang associates in Jalandhar following a high-speed chase and shootout. Police officials reported that the suspects opened fire during the pursuit, prompting a retaliatory response. Authorities recovered three firearms and a significant cache of cartridges, highlighting the gang’s capacity to carry out violent activities.

In another operation earlier in the week, Jaipur Police arrested four individuals linked to the gang based on intelligence gathered through social media monitoring.

These suspects were reportedly following social media accounts associated with Lawrence Bishnoi and his associate, Rohit Godara. According to Jaipur Police, the suspects had procured multiple illegal weapons from Madhya Pradesh and were allegedly preparing to execute orders received from senior gang members.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Singh shed light on the arrests in Jaipur, saying, “The individuals were carrying out courier work for the gang and were arrested before they could receive further instructions. Multiple weapons were recovered from their possession.” Acting on a tip-off from the Jaipur Commissionerate Special Team (CST), authorities intercepted the suspects before they could proceed with their plans, reported ANI.
