"Premeditated Gathering Of Stones And Firing Of Bullets": Haryana Home Minister Vij Calls Nuh Violence Pre-Planned

Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij on Tuesday (1 August) labeled Nuh violence as a "mastermind's plan" aimed at disrupting the state's harmony.

The Home Minister vowed to conduct a thorough investigation and assured that those responsible for the violence would not escape justice.

Vij expressed his concerns about the orchestrated nature of the violence, highlighting the premeditated gathering of stones and firing of bullets. He emphasized that this was not a spontaneous occurrence but a well-planned scheme by someone seeking to disturb the peace of the country and the state.

In the wake of the violence, Vij urged political parties not to exploit the situation for their political gains.

Vij reassured that sufficient security forces had been deployed to handle any potential further unrest. Additional forces were being dispatched from other parts of Haryana to reinforce the existing ones.

To ensure the restoration of law and order in Nuh, the Haryana government sought 20 companies of central security forces from the Union home ministry.

These include 12 companies of Rapid Action Force (RAF), two each of Border Security Force (BSF) and Indo Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), and four companies of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), including two women units.

In related developments, the Union home ministry requested the defense ministry's assistance in airlifting eight companies of CAPFs from Jammu, Ahmedabad, and Allahabad to Delhi to aid in the ongoing security efforts.

The violence on Monday resulted from clashes during a procession organized by the Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), leading to the death of two home guards and one unidentified person, along with several injuries. Tragically, early on Tuesday, a mosque in Gurgaon was set on fire, and the naib imam was killed allegedly by a mob of 70-80 people.

In response to the violence and the dissemination of misinformation online, the authorities issued warnings and clarifications to dispel rumors. The administration is closely monitoring social media content and has pledged to take strict action against those spreading rumors or making derogatory remarks about anyone's religion or caste.

Despite the efforts to control the situation, incidents of communal violence were reported from other areas like Sohna, Faridabad, and Palwal. Both communities have also been contributing to the dissemination of videos and disinformation online, contributing to the volatile situation in the region.

On Wednesday, the Rapid Action Force (RAF) conducted a flag march in Gurugram's Badshahpur due to escalating tensions in the National Capital Region. Reports emerged of an angry mob setting several roadside shops on fire in sector 70.

Meanwhile, in the neighboring state of Rajasthan, section 144 was imposed in ten blocks of Alwar district until August 10, following a mob's vandalism of shops in Bhiwari on Tuesday.

According to a Hindustan report, the mob ransacked some shops on Alwar Bypass at around 3:00 pm. Shopkeepers fled the scene during the sudden attack. The mob caused damage to goods and even broke the tin shed of a shop.

Some miscreants sought refuge inside the Genesis Shopping Mall. The Rajasthan police took swift action, surrounding the mall and detaining half a dozen suspected youths.

To prevent the spread of violence from Haryana to Rajasthan, security personnel have been deployed in Bhiwari, a town located on the border of Rajasthan and Haryana. Vehicles coming from Haryana are being subjected to checks, and individuals arousing suspicion are being questioned before being released.
