Seven seats of Rajasthan voted for assembly by-polls on 13 November. The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading on four seats of Congress-bastion Jhunjhunu, Khinwsar, Ramgarh and Deoli-Uniara.
Congress is leading only in one seat of Dausa, where the BJP candidate was Minister Kirodi Lal Meena's brother Jagmohan Meena.
Congress ally in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the Bharat Adivasi Party (BAP), which contested separately in bypolls is also leading in two seats of Salumber and Chorasi.
Notably, before the seats were vacated, BJP only held Salumber. However, now it may lose Salumber to BAP while BAP retains its Chorasi.
The bypolls come after the ruling party could not hit a hattrick of clean sweeps in Lok Sabha elections and won only 14 of 25 seats.
