Rajnath Singh To Head BJP's Election Manifesto Committee For 2024 Lok Sabha Polls - Here's All About It

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday (30 March) formed its election manifesto committee for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections under the chairmanship of Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will serve as the convenor, while Union Minister Piyush Goyal will be the co-convener of the 27-member panel.

The manifesto-preparation exercise will incorporate suggestions from people online and also via the party’s offline outreach to voters, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced some time ago, Indian Express reported.

Other key members of the committee include Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai, and Madhya Pradesh CM Mohan Yadav.

Union ministers Dharmendra Pradhan, Arjun Munda, Bhupender Yadav, Arjun Ram Meghwal, Ashwini Vaishnav, Smriti Irani, Kiren Rijiju, and Rajeev Chandrashekhar are also part of the committee.

The committee also comprises senior BJP leaders like Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vasundhara Raje, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Sushil Modi, general secretary Vinod Tawde.

Among the new inductees, Anil K Antony from Kerala, who has also been fielded from the state, is part of the committee.

Tariq Mansoor from Uttar Pradesh is the sole Muslim member of the committee.

The upcoming Lok Sabha elections are scheduled to be held in seven phases from 19 April to 1 June, with the vote count set for 4 June.
