Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel on Tuesday (5 August) laid the foundation stone for the four‑laning and upgrading of the 46 km Amod–Roza–Tankaria–Muler road, a project pegged at Rs 400 crore.

According to Desh Gujarat, once completed, the improved corridor is expected to provide direct and faster access from the Vadodara–Mumbai Expressway to Dahej, reducing congestion and improving transport efficiency for both commuters and freight movement.

The announcement came at the “Development Utsav” hosted by the Bharuch district administration, where Patel inaugurated and launched a total of 34 projects worth Rs 637 crore in a single day.

Of this, Rs 576 crore is earmarked for strengthening the district’s road infrastructure, a move officials say will significantly enhance connectivity across industrial and residential pockets.

In his address, Patel said these measures would “enhance residents’ ease of living,” adding that the Prime Minister has bolstered every sector of the GDP while promoting “Vocal for Local” to encourage reliance on indigenous products.

He noted that under the Prime Minister’s two‑and‑a‑half decades of leadership, Gujarat’s growth had accelerated, with the Bharuch–Ankleshwar–Jhagadia–Dahej belt emerging as a powerhouse of industrial activity.

Calling Bharuch India’s chemical capital, Patel highlighted landmark projects such as the Bulk Drug Park in Jambusar, Dahej PCPIR, LNG Terminal, Tribal Industrial Park in Valia, and the Sea Food Park, which he said had turbocharged the district’s economy.

He also pointed to Bharuch’s inclusion in the emerging Surat Economic Region, under NITI Aayog’s guidance, paving the way for renewed investment in industry, tourism, and infrastructure.
