Sanjeev Sanyal, a member of the Prime Minister's Economics Advisory Council, urged Indian rating agencies to set norms and give certificates to the world.
He posted on X on Friday (15 December), "Three of the world’s top five economies are in Asia, but global norms and certification are still set in the North Atlantic. Neither China nor Japan has made a dent, I think this is an area where India can succeed."
Highlighting the need to set a global narrative, Sanyal spoke at IIM Kozhikode on Thursday during the fourth international conclave on Golablising Indian Thought.
He urged to take the Indian thought to influence global narratives, global benchmarks, global certification and global norms. He stressed on credit ratings and setting norms for ESG.

Introducing ElectionsHQ + 50 Ground Reports Project
The 2024 elections might seem easy to guess, but there are some important questions that shouldn't be missed.
Do freebies still sway voters? Do people prioritise infrastructure when voting? How will Punjab vote?
The answers to these questions provide great insights into where we, as a country, are headed in the years to come.
Swarajya is starting a project with an aim to do 50 solid ground stories and a smart commentary service on WhatsApp, a one-of-a-kind. We'd love your support during this election season.
