Security forces launched a massive combing operation in Jammu and Kashmir’s Samba district on Wednesday (11 June) after villagers reported spotting two suspected terrorists wearing combat uniforms near a school in Nud village late Tuesday night.

The incident triggered an early morning joint search by police and army teams, who cordoned off the area and began door-to-door checks.

As per a report by Times of India , Despite intensive efforts, the suspects had not been traced as of Wednesday afternoon. The hunt for the suspected terrorists is still ongoing.

This incident has raised concern due to its timing and location.

Samba, close to the border, is considered a vulnerable sector for infiltration attempts

The region has remained on high alert since the deadly 22 April terror attack in Pahalgam, in which 26 people were killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists.

In response, the Indian armed forces launched Operation Sindoor, targeting multiple terror launch pads in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.

Over 100 terrorists were neutralised in that cross-border offensive.

While the motive and identity of the Samba suspects remain unknown, security forces are not ruling out any links to broader militant activities. Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and report any unusual sightings.
