The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Saturday (22 June) said that it had filed a police complaint against the girl who practiced Yoga at Golden Temple, Amritsar.

Additionally, the SGPC has also taken action against three of its employees for negligence in their duty.

On the International Yoga Day on 21 June, social media influencer Archana Makwana had posted a story on her Instagram account, where she could be seen performing Yogasanas at Shri Harmandir Sahib.

Earlier today (22 June), Makwana apologised for her act, and clarified that she didn't mean any harm to anyone.

"I recently posted something without intending to harm anyone's religious sentiments. I was unaware that practicing yoga in the Gurdwara Sahib premises could be offensive to some as I was just paying my respect to him and didn't mean any harm to anyone," Makwana said in a post on Instagram.

"I sincerely apologize for any hurt I may have caused and promise to be more mindful in the future. Please accept my sincere apologies. Thank you for your understanding," she added.

In another Instagram story, Makwana shared that she was receiving death threats over phone calls despite apologising.
