Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Wednesday (3 September) declared that the Modi government will not rest until all Naxals either surrender, are caught, or are eliminated, reported The New Indian Express.
Addressing an event in New Delhi, Shah said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi led government is committed to making India Naxal-free.
During the event, Shah honoured CRPF, Chhattisgarh Police, District Reserve Guard (DRG), and CoBRA jawans for the successful execution of "Operation Black Forest" on Karregutta hill in Chhattisgarh.
"The Modi government will not rest until all the Naxalites either surrender, are caught or eliminated," he said.
He praised the security forces for their courage, noting that they overcame extreme heat, altitude, and threats of IEDs to dismantle a major Naxal base camp.
The bravery and valour demonstrated by the jawans during Operation Black Forest will be remembered as a golden chapter in anti-Naxal operations, he said.
Shah explained that personnel from the Chhattisgarh Police, CRPF, DRG, and CoBRA destroyed the Naxals’ material dump and disrupted their supply chain on Karregutta hill.
He condemned Naxals for inflicting severe damage in underdeveloped regions by destroying schools, hospitals, and blocking welfare schemes.
Highlighting the outcomes of ongoing operations, Shah stated that continuing anti-Naxal operations had resulted in a "new sunrise" in the lives of 6.5 crore people across the region from Pashupatinath to Tirupati.
He assured full support for security personnel injured in action and reiterated that the government aims to eradicate Naxalism by 31 March 2026.
