During a tea meeting with NDA allies, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asserted that several young leaders in the Congress are highly talented but remain unheard due to “family insecurity.”

He said, “family insecurity” prevents them from speaking, adding that the presence of such youth leaders may be making Rahul Gandhi feel insecure and nervous, India Today reported, citing sources.

No opposition leaders attended this gathering, which was limited to members of the ruling alliance.

During the meet, PM Modi reportedly described the recently concluded Parliamentary session as positive, emphasising that the government passed several important bills.

Modi praised the passage of the Online Gaming Bill, calling it a reform with “far-reaching impact” that will directly affect the public and deserves broader discussion.

Criticising the opposition, Modi said, “They only remained engaged in creating disruptions,” accusing them of avoiding debates on major legislation.

On 21 August, the Parliament passed the Promotion and Regulation of Online Gaming Bill, 2025.

The bill imposes strict regulations on online money gaming—targeting companies, promoters, and individuals—by banning money-based online games and prescribing harsh penalties for violations.

The All India Gaming Federation (AIGF) has appealed to Home Minister Amit Shah for urgent intervention, warning that a blanket prohibition could harm the sector severely.

Modi also condemned the opposition’s disruptive tactics in Parliament.

He pointed out that proceedings devolved into chaos on Wednesday (20 August) after opposition members tore up three contentious bills introduced by Home Minister Amit Shah—bills which propose removing the Prime Minister and Chief Ministers from office if they remain under serious criminal charges for thirty days.
