Tamil Nadu: Former Minister And Senior AIADMK Leader MR Vijayabhaskar Arrested In Land Grab Case

The Crime Branch-Crime Investigation Department (CB-CID) today (16 July) arrested M R Vijayabhaskar, a senior leader and former minister belonging to the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) in connection with a land grab case.

The case had come to light after a Sub Registrar Mohamed Abdul Kadhar accused seven individuals of using forged documents to register land.

Vijayabhaskar had filed an anticipatory bail plea but that was rejected. He was not traceable for a number of days and did not take part in party programmes like the protests against the hooch tragedy in Kallakurichi. He was finally tracked down in Kerala and arrested.

The estimated value of the land involved is Rs 100 crore.
