Former US President and Republican candidate Donald Trump is currently leading against Democratic candidate Vice President Kamala Harris in the US Presidential election.
According to the latest trends, Trump is leading the race with 248 electoral votes compared to Harris' 216, according to Fox News.
At least 270 electoral college votes are needed by a Presidential candidate to win the US Presidency.
The electoral votes so far secured by both the candidates are on expected party lines as majority of the 50 states in the US are either Republican or Democrat leaning and thus vote accordingly.
However, there are seven battleground states, also called swing states, accounting for 93 electoral votes that alternate between the two main parties - Republicans and Democrats - in different elections.
Interestingly, Trump has won in North Carolina and Georgia — the first two swing state to be called — and has pulled ahead of Vice President Harris in the Electoral College.
Other swing states that are yet to be called and will determine the results of the hotly contested Presidential race include Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, Nevada, and Pennsylvania.
Of these remaining five swing states, Trump is currently is leading in four o— Michigan, Wisconsin, Arizona, and Pennsylvania. The results in Nevada are yet to be announced.
