Former Uttarakhand chief minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat has said that the Bharatiya Janata Party's time in Uttarakhand has come to an end. He added that the BJP doesn't believe in change but in changing faces.

He said, "They might bring any face but the BJP's time has ended. The way the change in power is visible today, in 2022, BJP will make an exit and Congress will come (to power)." He said that Trivendra Singh Rawat has failed badly, and even the BJP leadership has accepted it that "their government could not do anything in Uttarakhand in four years".

Harish Rawat added that the BJP has insulted Haridwar and to hide its incompetency, it (the BJP-led government) has reduced the duration of Kumbh.

In an address at the AICC headquarters, the Congress said that the situation of "rajneetik asthirta" in Uttarakhand has ended. Interestingly, in the address, the Congress used "steefa dilwaya gaya (he was made to resign) in chief minister Trivendra Singh Rawat's context.

The Congress has said that the resignation of Rawat is a "nakaam koshish" -- a failed effort from the BJP to draw the curtains before the incompetency and corruption" of its government in Uttarakhand.

Congress leader Devendra Yadav has said that the failure of the state government on several accounts, such as employment, Kumbh, the handling of farmers' issues, rising prices, outmigration etc has come to the surface with the CM's resignation.

He said that BJP always looks for escape routes like this one. He added that it was necessary for the government to resign and the resignation of Trivendra Singh Rawat would not be enough.

Yadav added that the handling of the tragedy in Chamoli is one of the issues of Trivendra Singh Rawat's incompetency. The "mishandling" of Covid in the state was done in an "insensitive" way, Yadav said. He said that the employment has gone up owing to the insensitive handling of the Covid situation.

He added that the BJP's step of asking for Trivendra Singh Rawat government was its admission of the failure of the government.

Congress leader Pritam Singh has said that the resignation of Trivendra Singh Rawat is BJP's own admission of its failures. The Congress had opposed Trivendra Singh Rawat's recent move -- of declaring Gairsain the third mandal in the state and had protested against it last week.
