Rail connectivity between Rajasthan and Delhi is set to improve with the launch of a new Vande Bharat Express, linking Bikaner with Delhi Cantt, Moneycontrol reported.
The announcement was made on Wednesday (20 August) by Bikaner MP and Union Minister of State for Law and Justice, Arjun Ram Meghwal, through his X post.
With the new service, passengers will be able to travel from Bikaner to Delhi in significantly less time.
Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw conveyed the information on launch of the Delhi-Bikaner Vande Bharat to Meghwal through an official letter.
The minister said,“This service would reduce the journey time between Bikaner – Delhi and also make the travel comfortable. Hence, it would give a boost to tourism, business – trade activities and the pace of industrialization too.”
"The launch of the new Vande Bharat train between Delhi and Bikaner is a historic gift for the region's residents, making daily travel smoother and safer while giving a new impetus to tourism and industrial development," Meghwal said.
Meghwal expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noting that the introduction of the train was a special gift for Bikaner’s citizens.
At present, Rajasthan is served by four Vande Bharat Express trains, linking the state to other important destinations. These include the Ajmer–Chandigarh, Jaipur–Udaipur City, Jodhpur–Sabarmati, and Udaipur–Agra Cantt routes.
