Home Minister Amit Shah has officially switched to the Made-in-India email platform Zoho Mail, confirming the move via a post on X on Wednesday (8 October), the News18 reported.
What drew attention, however, was Shah’s sign-off, echoing a style famously used by US President Donald Trump.
Trump generally signs off saying, "Thank you for your kind attention to this matter."
In his post, Shah also shared his new Zoho email ID, urging that all future emails be sent there.
“I have switched to Zoho Mail,” Shah declared, marking his endorsement of the Swadeshi platform.
Shah joins a growing number of senior officials in the PM Modi government embracing Indian tech solutions.
Zoho Mail, positioned as a rival to Gmail and Microsoft Outlook, is gaining traction following PM Modi’s calls for the use of Swadeshi apps.
Experts suggest that Shah’s adoption may encourage other authorities to follow suit in the coming days.
Zoho’s messaging app, Arattai, has also seen increased attention recently.
Sridhar Vembu, Zoho’s founder, has been highlighting the platform’s capabilities, including video and voice call encryption, though chat messages lack end-to-end encryption.
Zoho Mail itself offers an ad-free experience, with enterprise-friendly features for both individual and business users. It provides secure data handling with end-to-end encryption and promises that user data will not be sold to advertisers.
The platform also organises personal, business, and promotional emails into separate tabs, offering a unified email management experience similar to Gmail.
Shah’s move underscores the government’s ongoing push toward adopting Swadeshi technology, giving India-based platforms like Zoho a significant visibility boost amid growing tension with the United States.
Earlier, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw had also announced his shift to the Zoho platform, sharing a video demonstrating a digital presentation using Zoho’s PowerPoint-like app for his daily work.
