Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the Adampur Air Force Station in Hosiarpur, Punjab on Tuesday (13 May) and addressed the security personnel deployed there. Here are the highlights of his speech:
1. "Bharat Mata ki Jai"
He started his speech with 'Bharat Mata ki Jai' and said the world saw the power of this slogan when India's drones broke the enemy's forts. "Bharat mata ki jai was heard in sensations created by our missiles when India took out Sun in darkness (strikes in the dark) and when nuclear blackmail's bluff was called out," the PM said.
2. Operation Sindoor
Recalling Operation Sindoor, which started with the targetting of terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, he said, "When sindoor of our women was wiped off, we hit terrorists inside their houses while they kept hiding like cowards."
"Operation Sindoor is echoing in every corner of the world. Every Indian was standing with you and praying for you. We all are indebted to soldiers and their families," Modi said.
3. The inspiration
The PM said that India is inspired by principles of both, Gautam Buddha and Guru Gobind Singh. Mentioning Guru Gobind Singh's slogan 'Sava lakh se ek ladau' (my one fighter will fight 1.25 lakh of the enemy's), he said, "Our tradition is to use arms for the establishment of dharma and destruction of adharma."
Modi said that he came there to have a darshan (respected visit) of our brave hearts as they created history. "Darshan of brave hearts lifts us in life. After decades, you and your colleagues will be a part of most golden chapters of India's valour," the PM said saluting all the forces.
4. The success
"Nine terror centres were merged into the soil, more than 100 terrorists were killed and terror leaders have understood that they will be destroyed if they try to harm India," Modi asserted, adding, we also defeated Pakistan Army badly when they tried to retaliate.
"You have told the Pakistani forces that we will not be divided. Our drones and missiles won't let Pakistan sleep for days. You have done unimaginable and unprecedented things," he told the armed forces.
"Within 20-25 minutes hitting targets across the border, hitting the pin-pointed targets, was possible only by a professional force equipped with modern technology. Speed and precision left the adversary awestruck. They couldn't realise when they were hit," the PM said.
5. The praise
"Our target was to hit terror headquarters inside Pakistan but Pakistan conspired to hide behind its civilian aircraft. I can understand how difficult it would have been but I am very proud that you carried out your operation well without damaging any civilian aircraft," Modi said praising armed forces.
"You all fulfilled your targets. Not just terror centres and Pakistan air bases were destroyed, but their malefic intentions too were destroyed. Pakistan's drones, UAVs, aircraft and missiles failed in front of our air defence," the PM added.
6. How it became possible
PM Modi said that in the last decade, the world's best technologies have reached our forces but maintaining such complicated and sophisticated systems and operating them efficiently is a major skill, shown by our armed forces.
He also praised the coordination among Indian Army, which took care of borders, India Navy, which maintained maritime dominance and Indian Air Force, which carried out attack and defence both.
"BSF (Border Security Force) and other forces also showed their capabilities. Integrated air and land combat system showed how jointness is achieved efficently. The coordination of manpower and machine was also commendable," the PM said.
He praised our traditional air defence system, made-in-India platforms like Akash and S-400 modern defence system which did not allow even a slight damage to our air bases and defence infrastructure.
7. The warning
PM Modi said that a Lakshman Rekha has been drawn against terrorists and if any terror attack happens, India will retaliate. He reiterated the three points made in yesterday's address to the nation.
"One, if a terror attack happens, then India will retaliate in its own ways, according to timing and conditions of its will. Two, no nuclear blackmail will be tolerated. Three, governments linked to terrorists and terror leaders will not be differentiated," he said.
The PM added that although the Naya Bharat (new India) wants peace but if humanity is attacked then this Bharat will merge enemies into soil and that only armed activities have been paused but if Pakistan uses terrorists or its army again, then India will retaliate.
