Uttar Pradesh is set to witness a major boost in digital infrastructure with the upcoming CEL-ESDS Green Data Centre in Sahibabad, Ghaziabad.
On Thursday (26 June), Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh laid the foundation stone for the project at the Sahibabad Industrial Area.
The Green Data Centre is a joint initiative between Central Electronics Limited and ESDS Software Solution Limited.
According to a Free Press Journal report, the data centre is designed as a Tier-3 facility, built to high sustainability standards and advanced technological specifications to support digital governance, businesses, and innovation in the region.
The data center will have a total capacity of 30 megawatts and include high-density server racks distributed across three floors. It will be backed by Tier-3 green building certification, a robust 40 Gbps ring fibre backbone, and support from multiple internet service providers.
The facility aligns with the goals of Digital India and Green India, focusing on energy efficiency and environmental responsibility.
It is expected to play a key role in driving digital transformation, attracting investments, and generating employment opportunities in Uttar Pradesh.
Advanced monitoring systems and multi-layered security protocols will ensure reliability and protection of critical data.
Once operational, the CEL-ESDS Green Data Centre will serve as an important hub for digital infrastructure, helping position Uttar Pradesh as a competitive player in India’s growing digital economy.
